Going to San Antonio

I will be at a fencing tournament in San Antonio for the weekend, so don't be surprised if I don't respond to IMs, as I will be leaving my PC on the entire time if possible. I will try to post pics from the tournament when I get back.

Online Quizzes

OK, the best feeling you can get when taking one of those online personality quizzes is, in my opinion, when a choice fits so perfectly it feels like it was written for you. In example, I was taking a Which RPG Are You? Quiz, and under fashion, it had various options, but suddenly one clicked..." Function over form...I've got a job to do". That was my perfect fit, an option that I was thinking of before I even started. Well, I'll see you all later!

Pessimism

The dictionary definition of pessism is pes-si-mism n. A tendency to stress the negative or unfavorable or to take the gloomiest possible view. However, as a real life example, I would like to point out something that happened to me today. I was at an awards ceremony, and managed to get second place in something. However, instead of seeingthe bright side of things and being happy with what I had, I spent the next half-hour thinking on the fact that if I had scored another 3 tenths of a point higher, I would have gotten first place.

But on to other things. It really is quite an interesting experience to feel yourself slowly slipping. I have been slowly going into sleep deficit or becoming overly stressed or something. By slowly, I mean it is a sort of 1 step forward, 3 steps back, except even more incremental, to the point of 8 steps forward, 8 and 1/2 steps back. I find myself becoming slower and more clumsy ( not that I was ever agile), and even though I was never socially adept, I find myself becoming completely socially inept. Also affected is spot desicion making and general intelligence. Even though I take a while to make decisions, I still occasionally make wrong ones.

Anyways, enough about that. Until next time, farewell....

Matrix Reloaded

Although it has gotten many bad reviews, I am of the opinion that the Matrix Reloaded, while not as good as the first one, is still a great movie that is definately worth seeing. There are many surprising plot twists, and the storyline is definately developed in this movie, which is, I suppose, not surprising for a movie that is over two hours.

In short, go see it, its worth it.

Don't forget, you can contact me at WeeboWorld@hotmail.com, or you can IM me at WeeboWorld.

I'll probably make a larger post later, so see you (In a manner of speaking) later.

Still Here...

OK, just a short post to say that I'm still here and will post when I can find something to say. However, at the moment, I am very tired, so this will be, as I have already said, very short.

Here's a short pseudo movie review:
I recently saw Head of State ( I know, Its been out for a long time, but I usually only see movies when they're out at the on base theater, which is about two months after they came out) and would just like to say that it's worth seeing. Some of the jokes just seem to be put into the movie haphazardly, but after the movie really starts the storyline, It gets much better.

Also, I'm so happy ^_^! I get to see the Matrix: Reloaded tomorrow! Yay!

Evil Humanities Class

OK This is the kind of stuff that happens everyday in my 6th, 7th & 8th period classes.

I'm sitting in my desk bending over to get something from my backpack, and a friend leans towards me and says something. I shrug my shoulders in response, and my teacher chews me out for talking!

Random Post from School

e3 2003 Hopes

Having had “What Dreams Are Made Of” from the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack thoroughly stuck in my head, I’m going to proceed to make a parody based on e3. It’ll be finished sometime near the end of the month, as I don’t plan to make it a very high priority.

This week is an exciting week for true gamers everywhere (OR at least in the continental U.S.). E3 is this week, as is The Matrix: Reloaded. Unfortunately, I am too young to go to e3, and too young to go unaccompanied to The Matrix, so it won’t be quite as exciting for me, although I will follow the e3 coverage, and if I’m lucky, I’ll be allowed to go see The Matrix: Reloaded.

My expectations for e3 are fairly high. I hope that some of the next-generation consoles are revealed, hopefully with planned release dates (but not too soon, as I’m currently running low on cash. I’m also hoping that Nintendo will reveal at least one online game, hopefully based on one of there great multiplayer games. Mario Party Online, anyone? Also from Nintendo, I hope for at least a bit of information on the next GCN Metroid. From Sony I hope to see a definite release date on Final Fantasy XI’s debut in the U.S. My hopes for Microsoft include a an Xbox price drop (As I don’t have an Xbox yet), and possibly a web browser (forgive me if there already is one, but I’m not aware of it). Thankfully, I am a subscriber to IGN Insider, and know of various other websites to expect coverage from, so I’ll be able to see if my e3 news dreams come true

Finally, I’d like to once again remind anyone who reads this to tell their friends, family, enemies, whoever, about this blog! If you do read this blog, tell me by e-mailing me at weeboworld@hotmail.com . Also, If you know of any good webcomics, or something interesting online, e-mail me!

Nifty Programs

I definitely have to get more MP3s. I recently moved from the PC downstairs to my own PC up in my room. However, most of my stuff has not yet made the transition yet, including all of my music. Also not yet transferred is my large collection of zips and .exe files that I used to install all the stuff I have down there.

On another note, here are some apps I recommend you download.

~ Trillian – A useful chat manager that can run multiple sessions of AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, IRC, and Yahoo Messenger.

~ Google Toolbar – Very useful if you use google often. A toolbar for IE that has a search box with Find in Web, Find in Page, and Find on Site options.

~ Opera 7 – A great web browser, and my personal favorite for multi window browsing. Includes mouse gestures and a resume-browsing feature in case of power outages or just plain wanting to continue where you left off the last time.

~ Drempels – A program that uses seamless, seemingly flowing texture changes to create a moving desktop or screensaver.

~ Seti@Home – A shared processing organization. By downloading this program, your computer downloads chunks of data that it processes during idle time while your screensaver is running, or if you have a fairly good processor, all the time. The data is from various radio observatories and your computer is searching for possible alien signals.

Before I forget, anyone who reads this blog and isn’t aware of how to contact me online, my AIM username is hergenjohn, my MSN Messenger is TheWeeboHyren@hotmail.com, and I’m WeeboHyren on IRC, usually on gryphon.magicstar.net and usually on #rl-radio.

In conclusion, tell your friends about this blog! It’d be nice to have an audience of more than 2! Also, send me email at hergenjohn@aol.com with you’re the Titles/Artists of your favorite music, because like I said, I’m seriously musically deprived at the moment.

Fencing Headache

Ughh... Huge headache from fencing. My coach has a habit of whacking you on the mask when you do something new during one on one lessons, and we were learning completely new stuff. Lots of whaps to the head!

Online Radio, Calculus, and Dry-Erase Boards

Also for anyone who has broadband, although it may work on dial-up, I recommend listening to online radio. Some stations even have their own IRC Channel.

On another note, my Dad dug some of his textbooks out of the attic, so I think I'll take a look at some of the more interesting stuff like Thermodynamics and Calculus and see what I can comprehend.

On yet another note, I have finally bought a dry-erase board! I'll just be doodling on it, and who knows, I might even find someplace to make a daily post of the contents of it.

Until Tomorrow

Ragnarok Online

For anyone who has not yet tried it and has a broadband connection, I reccomend downloading and trying Ragnarok Online. Unfortunately, I used an AOL account to register, so I don't think I'll be getting my confimation e-mail. However, if you use a mail server that doesn't have automatic spam blocking to register your account, you should be fine.

Shadow

For those of you who don't know, I have a gray cat named Shadow who I adopted as a small kitten. He is crazy. He wanders around trying to bite anything that moves when he ishyper, and when hes sleepy, he doesn't care if you pick him up or anything. He also has learned how to push open doors and all sorts of other stuff.

First Blog Post

Hmmm.... My First blog and first post. This entire thing should prove interesting. I wonder how long it will last? Who knows. Anyway, I'll be using this as a sort of verbal doodle, posting whatevers on my mind or things I find interesting.
